Bio

Stephanie is a research associate on the Expanding Pathways in Computing (EPIC) STEM Evaluation Services team at the Texas Advanced Computing Center at UT Austin. She has over 10 years of experience designing and conducting mixed methods, STEM education studies involving K-20 learners, researchers, and college and university faculty. Stephanie's primary research focuses on developing practical measures for assessing noncognitive factors crucial for student success in STEM subjects, and she pays particular attention to the differential impact of educational experiences on demographic subpopulations. She also explores how to ethically apply analytic tools and methods used in other fields, such as natural language processing, to education research.
