Evaluation Capacity Building With Community-Based Organizations: Results of a Yearlong Planning Process and Curriculum As funders continue presenting grantees with reporting requirements of increasing scope and complexity, it is essential that nonprofit agencies have appropriate expertise and capacity to build meaningful evaluation into their work. Many community-based organizations, however, lack such capacity. In 2006, a Twin Cities coalition of 25 nonprofits, primarily community centers and others sharing settlement house values, first began discussing their capacity with respect to evaluation

Focus Search - The focus of the ACA has expanded beyond persuading people to buy health insurance to ensuring those who do so understand their health benefits and use them to their advantage.3, 4 From October 1, 2013-September 30, 2015, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation (BCBSMAF) Connecting Consumers with Care grant program funded sixteen (16) community-based organizations to help their clients enroll in and maintain health coverage, and to support them in becoming self-sufficient health insurance consumers

What Can We Learn From a Collection of Over 500 Evaluation Reports? - Poster AEA 2015

The resources include: 1) a coding framework for informal education evaluation reports, 2) an NVivo database with 520 reports that are coded based on our framework, 3) a spreadsheet that provides an additional way to search the coded reports, 4) a file with all the reports included in the database, 5) an Endnote library with citation information for all of the reports, and 7) an online community where people can find BISE synthesis papers and engage in conversations around the BISE database, findings, and implications for evaluation
