The Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program represents more than 50 academic institutions that constitute a consortium that seeks to accelerate and improve clinical and translational research. Through the Common Metrics Initiative (CMI), institutions report on a set of common metrics to be used to inform strategic management of research resources and in aggregate the CTSA Program’s collective impact. Annually, for each metric each funded institution submits a four-part narrative (based on the Results Based Accountability model) describing their strategic management. In this panel, new approaches and lessons learned will be presented by the Coordinating Center (CLIC) and two participating institutions. These presentations will inform ways to utilize metrics to strengthen institutional strategic management processes and the overall success of the CTSA Program.
