This poster and accompanying summary will introduce behavioral insights and its relevance in the evaluation field. Behavioral insights research shows that human decision making is often imperfect and imprecise. By combining research from psychology, cognitive science, and social science with empirically-tested results, these strategies can be integrated into evaluation findings and recommendations to help program stakeholders make decisions to meet objectives and improve outcomes. Key behavioral insights strategies are discussed, emphasizing the EAST framework that states that Easy, Attractive, Social, and Timely recommendations are more likely to be taken up. In collaboration with two of our clients, The Leadership Program and the NYC Department of Education, L&G Research and Evaluation showcases how we have integrated these key strategies into our own evaluation work with 21st Century Community Learning Centers in diverse communities of NYC public schools. This presentation can advise how to tailor evaluation findings to specific needs and cultures.
