AEA Session: 2620 Abstract: Measuring the impact of translational science research is , yet challenging, activity. Bibliometric analysis has been a traditional approach to examine the impact of translational research projects, however, it only captures a small part of the impact story. In this talk, we describe our use of ripple effect mapping, a qualitative and visual approach, to explore impact. This approach uses interviews and document analysis with the guiding question of “then what happened?” to uncover the full impact of translational science research. We will discuss the method of ripple effect mapping, show examples developed from translational science, and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this approach.Co-Authored by Stuart Henderson Tag: 2017 Conference
