As part of the iPlant project evaluation efforts, we are monitoring the progress of the GCTs. The iPG2P project was selected as the focus for the case study due to fact that their group has not worked together on this effort as has the majority of the iPToL team. It is ascertained that following the iPG2P group will provide a more realistic situation of how inter-institutional, interdisciplinary collaborations develop. The theoretical framework within which the case study will be conducted is based upon Susan Wheelan’s research regarding group development and leadership teams (Wheelan, 2003; Wheelan & Hochberger, 1996). Wheelan (2003) defined a leadership team as “a group of people who have strategic and operational responsibility for a function within an organization or for all of the functions within a division of a larger organization” (p. 179). We have identified the iPG2P team as a leadership team, as each group member is a leader in their own right and they are working together to achieve common goals. #2010Conference #SystemsinEvaluation
