In this presentation, the underlying vision, purposes and history of the "Common Outcomes Process" of the United Way of Greater Houston (UWGH) along with an assessment of that process and outcomes evaluation findings from three "affinity groups" will be discussed. Central to this presentation will be the theme of how the UWGH facilitated the empowerment of affinity groups of like- services providers to evaluate common outcomes utilizing like measures, data collection, and data reporting methods. An additional theme will be the results of this agency empowerment process in achieving program improvement and far-reaching community change. The principal consultant to the UWGH on common outcomes over the past six years will also present an in-depth examination of the work and progress of three affinity groups, UWGH- funded agencies providing services to seniors, substance abuse services and services to victims of domestic and sexual violence. #empowerment #UnitedWay
