A foundation of successful interventions (projects, policies, etc.) is that we make decisions about "what" before decisions about "how". Yet all of us frequently make less-than-optimal decisions for lots of reasons - such as a lack of time, limited knowledge of options, or reliance on preferences over evidence. In response, needs assessments offer numerous process tools to help guide individual and group decisions. In this session we will focus on how two tools, multicriteria analysis and pair-wise comparison, can be applied in your needs assessment or evaluation to guide decision-making. Using a case example, session participants will apply both tools in making a group decision. After which the strengths and weaknesses of each tool will be explored, along with an overview of other tools you can consider when making decisions within a needs assessment context. Join us to learn more about tools that help put "what" before "how".#decisions #Assessment #Needs #NeedsAssessment #2013Conference
