Poster to accompany the following abstract:

Evaluation site visits provide an opportunity to understand site-specific contextual factors, observe team interactions, and get real time program insight. While site visits are frequently utilized, there is a paucity of guidance for conducting them. Standards proposed by Patton in 2015 and 2017 offer an opportunity to add systematic rigor to the design and implementation of site visits. The application of these standards is expected to stimulate further development of guiding principles designed to help evaluators shine their light when employing this valuable data collection method.

Using rapid content analysis Patton’s site-visit standards were applied to documents associated with planning, managing, and conducting implementation-evaluation site visits. Documents included meeting minutes, training materials, emails, data collection templates, and interview guides. Our findings expand on the standards and provide examples of the use and need for each standard.
