How many times have you heard the statement, “They didn’t get me the data?” This statement echoes through evaluator’s offices throughout the country and even through the presentations at AEA! However, there is always a reason that data are not provided to evaluators. Maybe stakeholders are unsure about how to access data or are so busy with other responsibilities that they never get around to providing necessary data. Maybe they forgot that the data was needed at all. This skill-building session offers strategies for increasing stakeholder buy-in through meeting stakeholders where they are, establishing relationships, identifying barriers to providing data, and helping stakeholders build the capacity to provide data. Tools found to be effective in increasing stakeholder buy-in will also be presented. Further, the session will explore the role of evaluators in ensuring the success of data collection.
