As evaluators, we frequently work with programs that are short on time and money, but need to understand and effectively tell the story of their work. We've had to find strategies that are affordable and user-friendly for our clients. Luckily, these strategies often make our jobs easier as well! In this session, we aim to make attendees' work easier by sharing ways in which our team has used simple tools to streamline data collection and visualization. First, we will introduce and discuss the use of the people-and-business finding technology and online survey tools that we used to implement a survey of over 700 residents. Then, we will lead attendees in trying their hand at using Excel to create interactive data dashboards. Lastly, we will demonstrate the capabilities of Quadrigram for building visualizations that clients can update themselves, allowing time for attendees to practice building in this platform.
