This presentation will discuss the evaluation of an innovative teacher preparation program, the Newark-Montclair Urban Teaching Residency (NMUTR). In order to contextualize the successes and challenges of the project and to make meaningful program recommendations, the evaluation has had to capture a wide array of program components and participants, and the changing interactions among them. Presenters will discuss the ways in which the evaluation has been able to address, and in some cases capitalize on, challenging programmatic and contextual characteristics. Strategies include utilization of a comprehensive mixed methods study design and the establishment of ongoing collaboration with program staff. The presentation includes contributions from the evaluator and project leadership.#Prek-12EducationalEvaluation #2013Conference
