Sherif, V & Nash, J. B. Considering organizational communication in program evaluation to improve process and outcomes The success of evaluation conducted in cross-disciplinary environments is dependent upon attention to such steps as articulation and alignment of goals, the setting of evaluation questions, data collection, and reporting and utilizing results. A key to success in these steps is communication. Effective communication strategies allow for enhancing the overall interaction between stakeholders and evaluators, and, thus, play an important role in program evaluation. To foster the effectiveness of communication strategies, understanding the notion of organizational communication within the context of diverse environments appears essential. In this presentation we elaborate on the theoretical underpinnings of organizational communication and provide concrete strategies that can be implemented in evaluation practice.#2014Conference #Communicationtheory
