The Roberto Marinho Foundation (FRM) was set up in 1977, by the journalist Roberto Marinho, with the aim of contributing to an improvement in the quality of life of the Brazilian population - through projects that integrate communication and education. Today the Foundation has projects all over Brazil, encompassing a variety of themes -such as education, communication, the environment and culture. These are made possible through partnerships with other third sector institutions, government and business. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E; M&A in Portuguese) is policy at the Roberto Marinho Foundation, with a focus on improving our projects and other work, improving communications, and celebrating the results of our work together with different publics. This document aims to explore the route taken by FRM in the planning and realization of its project evaluations, taking in evidence of both achievements and challenges. It will also present two practical examples: the evaluation of the projects ‘Carioca Autonomy’ and ‘Multicourse Mathematics’ – educational projects conducted in partnership with the public sector. #2013Conference #Non-ProfitsandFoundationsEvaluation #Collaborative,ParticipatoryandEmpowermentEval #EvaluationUse #MixedMethodsEvaluation
