Most of us in the profession arrived through other means, as researchers, academicians or statisticians, among other fields. Typically, most independent consultants lack knowledge of important business principles necessary to create, develop and sustain an evaluation-focused business. These include: developing a strong vision and mission for the business; identifying roles and responsibilities for those internal to the business, as well as evaluator-client responsibilities; and maintaining and nurturing internal and evaluator-client relationships. This presentation will address the three R’s of the conference theme in the context of the business of evaluation. Three experienced business owners will provide examples from their practices relative to the 3 R’s.#IndependentConsulting #2012Conference
