10-30-2012 11:36

Conference presentation on the process of internal evaluation at a transdisciplinary research center. Presentation Abstract: This session will present the development of an internal evaluation regarding faculty involvement in a transdisciplinary research center. As part of the Center for Community Health Development’s internal evaluation, a Centers for Disease Control & Prevention funded Prevention Research Center, the evaluation team conducted surveys and interviews with affiliated Center faculty members. Faculty members span across two Universities in the Texas A&M System and multiple departments and disciplinary programs. Affiliated faculty members also range from Regents Professors to junior level faculty. The session will present the process of developing a survey instrument and interview questionnaire for such a diverse population, implementation of the survey, and analysis of data. In addition this session will briefly highlight the lessons learned along the way and the unique benefits and challenges of conducting internal evaluation.
