Eval12 Session 637: Building Evaluation Capacity to Address Health Disparities - Working with Diverse Cultural Communities: Perspectives from the field

11-02-2012 18:12

Panel Abstract: Foundations, government agencies, and other funders are increasingly asking community based organizations to provide evidence that their programs are effective. Community organizations, however, often lack the capacity to evaluate their programs and demonstrate outcomes. What are the best mechanisms for building evaluation capacity? In this panel discussion, four presenters will share their unique perspectives about strategies for building evaluation capacity of organizations focused on addressing health disparities and social determinants of health in different cultural communities. The panelists are currently part of a technical assistance team providing support to 29 grantees funded by the Minnesota Department of Health Eliminating Health Disparities Initiative. Through an active discussion with the audience, panelists will share successes, challenges and lessons learned. Powerpoint presentation by Ann Zukoski, Eric Moore, Julie Nielsen and Rodolfo Gutierrez
