Eval12 Session 392: Getting Your Findings Used: Developing Reporting Methods and Strategies that Engage Clients and Encourage Evaluation Use

10-27-2012 13:24

Presentation materials and session summary notes. Think Tank Session Abstract: Writing reports that sit on shelves collecting dust is likely one of the most frustrating aspects to evaluation. This interactive session builds upon round table dialogues in 2009 and 2010, and a think tank session in 2011 which was followed up by a survey of attendees to identify creative alternative means for encouraging client and other data use. Discussion leaders represent public and private, state, federal, and local evaluators who will share the findings from the 2011 AEA participant survey and gather additional information and ideas from 2012 session participants for use in creating a reference guide for all evaluators. Participants will have an opportunity reflect upon “Evaluation Use” within the context of their work through a joint narrative experience. The impact of client capacity to utilize data, and the evaluator’s role in capacity building will also be discussed.
