The most pertinent program evaluation practices in Japanese education are seen in the evaluation in the prefectural institutes for educational research. There are almost 70 institutes in the 47 prefectures and 19 Ordinance-designated cities. Those institutes combine missions of carrying out practical researches, providing in-service teacher training, collecting and distributing useful information for teachers, students and parents. Based on an overall questionnaire survey of those institutes, I will report how they design and practice their internal/external evaluation.#GovernmentEvaluation #Collaborative,ParticipatoryandEmpowermentEval #Communications #Prek-12EducationalEvaluation #DiversityandInclusion #CollegeAccessPrograms #EvaluationPolicy #2012Conference
