Eval12 Session 211: Evaluator Responsibility in Using Dropout Predictors for Program Targeting and Measuring Impact

10-24-2012 10:46

Is it our responsibility as evaluators to look beyond our immediate client agreements to national research to determine what is relevant to our work and if work we’re doing is relevant to others? We believe so! We will share how two dropout prevention studies were applied locally and how local longitudinal data were used to help influence statewide funding decisions. During this session we will demonstrate how to identify and use the dropout predictors in order to target participants for services as well as measure impact of programs within the context of 21st Century Community Learning Centers and college access networks. Participants will leave with the knowledge on how to gather and analyze the data. We’ll also have some discussion about the responsibility of the evaluator to assume these additional roles.
