Poster Abstract: This poster highlights an evaluation of a district-wide implementation of a large-scale education initiative. Several school districts within the State of Florida were supported in implementing a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) through use of a four-step problem-solving process. Recent national policies, such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) of 2004, and the Reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) have mandated the use of educational practices consistent with an MTSS framework of service delivery in order to enhance outcomes for all students. Since the MTSS framework is relatively new to educators, a significant amount of support is necessary for district-level administrators to help school staff implement MTSS practices. This poster illustrates the evaluation design, procedures employed, tools designed to measure MTSS implementation, and preliminary outcomes used to formatively evaluate the implementation of MTSS practices within these Florida school districts.#2012Conference #NeedsAssessment #Prek-12EducationalEvaluation
