The purpose of the paper is to describe a mixed-method evaluation of a project that changed midway through the year, which necessitated a shift in the design of the evaluation plan. Through the experience, the evaluators were able to reflect on the lessons learned. The paper begins with a brief overview of the project, followed by a description of the original evaluation plan. We then describe the reality of what transpired and the subsequent realignment of the evaluation. The paper concludes with a series of reflections framed around the American Evaluation Association (AEA) Guiding Principles for Evaluators (2004), the Program Evaluation Standards (Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation, 1994), and the organization’s corporate values.#2011Conference #MixedMethodsEvaluation
