11-03-2011 13:22

This entry contains a .pdf of the power point presentation from the Using R for the Management of Survey Data and Statistics in Evaluation Demonstration and two syntax files that were used to achieve the operations presented. R is a free, open-source software program for statistics and graphics that consists of many statistical packages specific to analyses that are useful to evaluators. This session will include an introduction to R, how to import data files into R and how to export data files into other formats. In addition, we will demonstrate how to analyze descriptive statistics, recode and re-label variables, and produce descriptive tables in R. We will also provide an overview of more recent, qualitative data analysis capabilities in R. Syntax will be reviewed in R and results in R will be compared with familiar packages such as SPSS and Excel.
