This Health Evaluation TIG sponsored panel session was presented at the 2010 annual conference. Comprehensive cancer control (CCC) is an “integrated and coordinated” approach by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and its funded programs to address the cancer control continuum with the ultimate goal to reduce cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality. Beginning in 1998, CDC provided funding for the development and implementation of CCC plans. From the onset, CDC has sought out ways to effectively assess the impact these programs have had on reducing the nation’s cancer burden. In 2007, an evaluation conceptual framework was developed to further drive evaluation efforts. Using the evaluation conceptual framework, CDC has developed and conducted activities that have been instrumental in establishing a system of accountability for public investments in cancer prevention and control. Panelists will describe tasks that have enhanced CDC’s evaluations and will build the capacity of our funded partners to develop and implement quality evaluations. #HealthEvaluation #GovernmentEvaluation #Cluster,Multi-SiteandMulti-LevelEval #OrganizationalLearningandEvalCapacityBuilding #2010Conference #ComprehensiveCancerControl
