A community organization delivering a sexual abuse prevention program to at-risk students in a large, urban school district worked collaboratively with an external evaluator to build evaluation capacity and develop student outcome measures. A shared understanding of the goals and challenges developed from a process including a literature review, logic modeling, and piloting and revising instruments. The resulting evaluation contributed to a greater understanding of how the program worked, clarity about intended outcomes, measurement tools that tested assumptions as well as outcomes, and increased accountability to stakeholders.#prevention #2010Conference #sexual #collaborative #abuse #HumanServicesEvaluation #nonprofits
