AEA 2010 Presentation: The First Illusion of Tobacco: Monitoring and Countering Tobacco Industry Influences Through the Application of Evaluation Indicators The passage of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (FSPTCA) in 2009 in coordination with existing policy, provides an opportunity for intensifying tobacco prevention and control activities focused on reducing tobacco industry influences on tobacco use initiation and cessation. The CDC Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) is working with state and national partners to reframe the application of key outcome indicators (KOI). In this presentation we describe the collaborative process for reassessing the state of tobacco control science, and illustrate feasible approaches for employing indicators to assess the impact of federal, state, and local efforts to reduce tobacco industry influence. #2010Conference #HealthEvaluation
