What does it mean for front line staff to use evaluations as part of a data-driven strategy? Do you work with staff that are scared of data or believe that data should be left to experts? Public sector organizations often don't have the luxury of assigning data collection tasks to data-specific staff, resulting in the feeling that evaluation adds more work with limited benefit. This session will train data users and evaluators to create buy-in and institutionalize the importance of data into an organization's culture. Creating an environment where all staff are empowered by data instead of intimidated will elevate the ability to put evaluation results into practice. Using juvenile justice examples, participants will learn strategies for 'lighting a spark' within front-line staff, sustaining the use of data, emphasizing the importance of data quality, and empowering data champions.
