Organizational Development (OD) is a foundational program and approach for Community Development Educators in the University of Wisconsin-Extension. A diversity of approaches, audiences and impacts is one core strength of OD work conducted by UW-Extension. This strength has also lead to a few challenges, including a lack of a common understanding and shared language regarding what OD work concretely entails. In order to gain insight on OD work that is grounded in the experiences and programming realities of our educators, a team of OD practitioners and evaluators in UW-Extension collaborated on a mixed method evaluation of OD programming and the impacts of that work in communities throughout Wisconsin. This presentation will share our team’s methodology, findings, specific examples, and the important implications of it.
