Abstract: As successful evaluators, we strive to respond to the evaluation goals outlined in our designs or plans. At the same time, we approach evaluations from various perspectives and lenses, including as equity-focused evaluators who may feel morally obligated to include equity and environmental consciousness in our approach. How do we infuse our social consciousness into evaluations when this may not be a primary program goal? In the face of tight budgets, shorter reports, and streamlined surveys, how do we shape our evaluation practices to leave no one behind? This panel will look at practical examples where evaluators were able to shift the narrative the challenge the status quo by promoting equity-focused evaluation design, data collection and analysis of findings. Participants will learn specific strategies for incorporating these perspectives at each stage of the evaluation, from planning to reporting and communication of findings.
