Rupu Gupta, Program Co-Chair
Rupu is a conservation psychologist interested in what motivates people to take care of nature and the environments they inhabit. The foundation for her work is understanding the culturally nuanced ways people experience interconnected social and natural systems and support a mutually beneficial relationship with nature.
She considers evaluation as a pathway to apply social science and create impact for individuals, organizations, and society. Using mixed methods, her research and evaluation has studied equitable and inclusive practices in the environmental sector, community engagement processes in climate resilience contexts, and E-STEM learning pathways in informal and formal education. She is fascinated by the myriad approaches and practices guiding environment-focused evaluators, and views her leadership role in the EPE TIG as a community builder and connector of many perspectives.
She is currently at the Hudson River Foundation in the role of Senior Scientist for Social Sciences and Evaluation. At the Foundation, she is leading the development and management of a new social science research program and an organizational evaluation framework.
In her spare time, she enjoys photographing nature everywhere, sketching, and writing poetry. Connect with Rupu on LinkedIn!
