Skill Building Workshop Abstract: In many situations, an evaluation form can be formatted to use dots, stickers, or labels to good effect. This format has the advantage that it appeals to persons who didn’t like tests in school and sure don’t like things that look like tests now. Most of us think of using dots only for priority-setting activities, but the same supplies have been used to assess opinions, experiences, and even knowledge of individuals or of a group. I have used the sticker-dot-label format for many years, including within a homeless shelter, a school-based program for disorderly middle-school students, university graduate courses, a health program for pregnant agricultural workers, and others. The demonstration will cover the “ground rules” for this type of format, provide detailed examples, and discuss issues of validity. In what ways is this format more valid than a traditional evaluation form and in what ways is it less valid?#HowTo #2012Conference
