John LaVelle is Assistant Professor of Evaluation Studies at the University of Minnesota. He earned a MS in Applied Psychology (emphasis: Health Psychology) from University of Wisconsin-Stout and a PhD in Psychology (emphasis: Evaluation and Applied Research Methods) from Claremont Graduate University. His research is on professional issues in evaluation, including evaluator education programs, curriculum, competencies, evaluation theory to practice, evaluation theory to impact, values, and ethics. He joined AEA in 2004 and has contributed to several association projects including launching AEA365, operationally supporting the Graduate Diversity Internship Program (GEDI), serving on the AEA Evaluator Competencies Taskforce, and Chairing the Teaching of Evaluation TIG.

After 29-years in higher education where she led assessment and evaluation activities, Jennifer joins The Rucks Group as a senior research and evaluation specialist. Jennifer holds a M.S. in Zoology and a Ph.D. in Administration and Leadership Studies where her research focused on program evaluation theory, ontology, and epistemology. Jennifer joined AEA in 2017 and has contributed to AEA through writing for AEA365, reviewing proposals for multiple TIGS, and hosting round table, expert lecture, and panel presentations. Of German, English, and Scottish ancestry and residing on land stolen from the Susquehannock, Jennifer strives to be an accomplice to her Black, Indigenous, and People of Color colleagues through open critique of the narrow philosophical foundations of western fields of study. Additionally, she is the co-founder of Soccer Outreach Services, Inc., a youth development 501c3.
