On Thursday, August 21, the American Evaluation Association hosted a Town Hall with the Foundational Documents Task Force exploring the 2025 refresh of AEA’s Guiding Principles for Evaluators. These Principles—Systematic Inquiry, Competence, Integrity, Respect for People, and Common Good and Equity—are the foundation of ethical evaluation practice. This update builds on the 2018 version and responds to today’s changing landscape, including advances in technology and growing calls for equity and accountability.
