Whether you conduct evaluations, commission them, or use their findings to make decisions, the Evaluation Roadmap for a More Effective Government is meant for you. AEA's Evaluation Policy Task Force (EPTF) developed the Roadmap as a normative reference describing what good evaluation looks like in government — and the 2026 update substantially expands its scope, depth, and practical utility. On June 16, the Evaluation Policy Task Force hosted a Town Hall to introduce the updated Roadmap, walk through what changed from the 2019 version, and open a conversation about what it means for evaluation practice at every level of government. Presenters also discussed how member feedback from two 2025 Town Halls, the Eval25 conference, and public comment periods shaped the final document, and offered practical guidance on how you can put the Roadmap to use.
