The Center for Victim Research (CVR) is designed to serve as a one-stop shop for victim service providers and researchers to connect and share knowledge to increase access to and the utility of victim research and data to crime victim services nationwide. One of the ways that CVR is contributing to the future of evaluation is through the funding of researcher-practitioner partnerships. Two of these partnerships, located in Iowa and Maine, are conducting evaluations of housing services for victims of crime. Needs assessments conducted in states have shown that housing needs are some of the largest existing gaps in services for victims of crime. Formative evaluations of housing programs are critical to establish the activities and outputs necessary to produce the desired outcomes for victims of crime. Findings from these projects will assist both local-level programs and funders at the state-level in improving access to and quality of these services.
