Session 2601: Shining light on the perspectives of frontline health workers and health facility managers to use data to improve HIV service delivery in Indonesia

10-21-2020 17:16

In June 2019, the Government of Indonesia estimated that only 54% of people living with HIV knew their status, and 18% were receiving antiretrovirals. To connect and sustain more people on treatment, the country must strengthen its human resources for health (HRH). But HIV and HRH challenges differ across the 17,000-island archipelago: supporting decentralized stakeholders to obtain, analyze, and use HIV and HRH data for decision-making can enable more strategic, tailored decisions to improve HIV care. In this poster, the USAID Human Resources for Health in 2030 program (HRH2030) implemented by Chemonics International shares our experience building the capacity of health facility- and district-level stakeholders to gather and use their own data to improve HIV services. The poster includes some of the HIV-HRH findings we discovered in partnership with these local stakeholders who were supported to collect and analyze their own HIV-HRH data.

Originally, the in-person session submitted was intended to include interactive demonstrations of some of the assessment tools our stakeholders used, including the HRH Optimization Tool for ART to analyze staffing imbalances and Rapid Task Analysis to assess staff competencies. If you're interested in learning more about our tools, don't hesitate to reach out!
