Meta analysis: age-related measurement error can lead to systematic overestimates of childhood stunting rates

10-21-2020 16:05

Hello and thank you for stopping by!

Stunting (low height-for-age) is an important indicator that tracks trends in global childhood nutrition status.  This poster presents a meta-analysis demonstrating how age-related data quality measurement errors can systematically lead to overestimates of population-level stunting prevalence results.  Strengthened and increasingly uniform data quality reviews are implicated, as well the addition of complementary indicators that are less sensitive to these kinds of measurement errors.
