Expert Lecture - AEA 2017 Annual Conference, DC
This expert lecture will examine 10 key considerations for planning effective learning interventions in organizational contexts for evaluation. The content will draw largely from the research conducted for the 2016 book, “Monitoring and Evaluation Training; A Systematic Approach,” (Scott Chaplowe & Brad Cousins, Sage), and Scott’s experience working with a range of organizations in ECB. Training is only one source of learning for evaluation, and the lecture will encompass key factors to consider to inform other learning interventions in organizational contexts for evaluation. It is inspired not only by this year’s conference sub-theme on “Learning to Enhance Evaluation Practices,” but also by a 2015 survey conducted by the Organizational Learning & Evaluation Capacity Building (OL-ECB) TIG of its membership, which identified key challenges and priorities for OL-ECB.
