Techniques for Overcoming Resistance to Program Evaluation

One major dilemma that is often confronted by an internal evaluator is resistance to program evaluation. The presenter has been an internal evaluator in the non-profit sector for 38 years where he learned various techniques to overcoming resistance within an organizational setting. As a VP for Quality Management the presenter has utilized a variety of techniques within a 100 million dollar organization that provides a wide array of services. Further, as a Council on Accreditation peer reviewer he has had the chance to observe 103 non-profit and government evaluation systems in 34 states, District of Columbia, Canada as well as military installations in the United States, Germany, Guam and Japan. At the conclusion of this lecture, participants will obtain a variety of techniques that could be utilized in a variety of organizational settings to overcome resistance to program evaluation and ensure providing senior management with the information to strengthen their program performance.
