Measuring the Effects of Collaboration and Professional Development on the Technology Integration and Student Achievement in K-12 Classrooms

Session Title: Evaluating Teacher Professional Development: Context and Methods. A mixed-methods approach was used to evaluate whether implementation of the IMPACT model in K-12 schools improves student achievement and technology skills, and increases teacher use of technology during instruction. The model is currently being implemented as a district-wide initiative in 7 school districts, which include a total of 30 schools, K-12. Information about the data collection instruments and implementation issues will be addressed, along with findings from multilevel analysis of teacher survey results in all schools, and student achievement tests in grades K-8.
