Eval12 Session 553: Engaging Stakeholders in Developing Evaluation Questions

10-26-2012 11:23

A Practical Guide for Engaging Stakeholders in Developing Evaluation Questions by Dr. Hallie Preskill and Nathalie Jones, published in 2009 by FSG, provides the context for this demonstration. This how-to guide is useful for engaging all types of stakeholders more effectively in the evaluation design process. This is particularly useful when working with vulnerable persons in that their perspectives and views are more often left out than included. This 45 minute session will demonstrate several methods of engaging vulnerable persons more effectively in the particular design aspect of developing the evaluation questions. Methods such as role playing and mind mapping will be discussed alongside the more traditional logic modeling as examples of ways to engage people more effectively. It is expected that attendees will have concrete tools to use in their own practice when leaving this session and hoped that attendees will share experiences related to working with vulnerable persons.
