Eval12 Session 298: Cost-inclusive evaluation in health and human services

10-21-2012 14:08

Conducting cost-inclusive evaluations embodies an important, and sometimes additional, component to evaluations in the fields of health and human services. Often, this includes transforming previously non-monetized variables into dollar amounts. With healthcare costs continually increasing, implementing additional techniques and strategies that allow the researcher to gather cost-inclusive data is becoming more important. This panel will draw on the experiences of a team that currently conducts cost-inclusive evaluations in multiple research settings with datasets of varying sizes (i.e., randomized clinical trial, large insurance dataset, community sample). Additionally, in order to allow for the data gathered being most applicable to cost-inclusive analysis, the team will share insight and techniques previously employed through the implementation of questionnaires and monetization of previously non-valued data throughout this presentation.
