The Skillman Foundation engaged Brandeis University's Center for Youth and Communities to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the supports and opportunities available to youth in six Detroit neighborhoods. The data were disseminated to community partners in a variety of ways, including neighborhood snapshots and maps of youth programs and agencies. Community partners, including Southwest Solutions, then used the data as a basis for further assessments of opportunities and gaps in neighborhood youth services in order to plan for system building. A youth-led mapping and surveying project has been underway in Southwest Detroit to further broaden understanding of community conditions facing young people. A full SOSO report will be available on the Skillman Foundation's website in December 2011: http://www.skillman.org/Good-Opportunities/Evaluation-and-Learning . #2011Conference #YouthFocusedEvaluation #Non-ProfitsandFoundationsEvaluation #youthdetroitmapafterschool
