In the 2017-2018 school year, the Superintendent of Minneapolis Public Schools identified four key priorities to accelerate learning and minimize the achievement gap: Equity, Literacy, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, and Social Emotional Learning. The district’s Research, Evaluation, Assessment, and Accountability department committed to a four-year partnership to build evaluative thinking throughout the adoption and implementation phases for each of these priorities using participatory and empowerment approaches at each stage of these projects to engage a wide range of stakeholders in data collection and analysis.
