Eval12 Session 601: Using Cost-Effective Processes to Develop Large-Scale Data-Driven Continuous Improvement Systems for Local Programs

10-26-2012 16:10

This intermediate demonstration session describes a process for developing program quality indicators and feeding data back to local programs as well as state, federal, or foundation funders in large-scale, multi-site programs. Using the evaluation of the Michigan 21st Century Community Learning Centers after-school programs as an example, the session demonstrates how indicators of quality can be developed at the individual and organizational level to document program quality and provide information on areas for improvement; how data representing the indicators can be collected and entered using cost-effective technologies; and how results can be disseminated to a large number of individual programs efficiently for use in program improvement, fund development, and advocacy and support efforts. The session also discusses training and coaching processes for using these data-driven systems to help program administrators and staff select and focus on areas for improvement.
