Welcome to the Community Psychology TIG website!

Our Mission

The Community Psychology Topical Interest Group (CP TIG) promotes the values and methods of community psychology in evaluation and evaluation theory and practice in community psychology.  It's a lot of fun!

What is Community Psychology?

  • Community psychology aims to create change in individuals and systems by focusing on contexts beyond the individual, including structural, socio-cultural, environmental & political contexts.
  • Community psychology evaluators take an approach that is ecological, value-driven, action-oriented and rooted in social justice and empiricism. We use innovative, applied, and often participatory research methodologies that involve partnering with communities stakeholders as co-researchers.
